Overview

When an 80-foot tree fell across a homeowner’s property during a severe storm with 80 mph winds, it created an urgent and potentially dangerous situation. The massive tree landed across the yard, driveway, vehicle, and pergola, leaving the homeowner needing immediate assistance from an experienced tree service company in Union, New Jersey which is capable of handling a complex emergency.

The homeowner, Hannah Z. contacted New Jersey Tree Professional for help, and our owner, Jose, responded immediately and arrived to evaluate the damage and provide an estimate. Understanding the urgency of the situation, our team arrived the following morning before 10 AM, even on Independence Day, July 4th, to begin addressing the storm damage.

With a large trunk, extensive coverage area, and multiple structures nearby, this was not a routine removal project. Through careful planning, experienced execution, and a commitment to customer care, New Jersey Tree Professional helped the homeowner move from a stressful emergency situation to a safe and restored property.

Challenge

Storm-related tree failures require immediate attention, especially when a large tree impacts multiple areas of a property. The homeowner needed a team that could respond quickly while safely managing a complex removal involving significant size, weight, and surrounding obstacles.

Some of the key challenges were:

1. Responding After a Severe Storm Event

The homeowner experienced an unexpected emergency after extreme winds caused an 80-foot tree to fall overnight. Immediate assistance was needed to evaluate the situation and reduce safety risks around the property.

2. Managing a Large Tree Across Multiple Property Areas

The fallen tree stretched across the yard, creating a complicated removal scenario. Our team needed to carefully plan the work to avoid additional damage while restoring access to the affected areas.

3. Safely Handling an Oversized Tree Structure

With an enormous trunk and extensive branches covering the property, the removal required specialized knowledge, proper equipment, and controlled techniques to safely dismantle the tree.

4. Providing Reliable Service During an Emergency

The homeowner needed more than fast assistance. She needed a company that would communicate clearly, arrive as promised, and provide dependable support during a stressful situation.

Solution

We approached this emergency project with a focus on rapid response, detailed planning, and safe removal practices. Our team combined years of experience, professional equipment, and technical expertise to manage the fallen tree while protecting the homeowner’s property.

Here are the key highlights of the engagement –

1. Immediate Emergency Assessment and Planning

After receiving the homeowner’s call, our owner Jose arrived at the property at 11 PM to evaluate the storm damage and determine the safest removal approach. By inspecting the tree’s position, size, and surrounding obstacles, we created a clear plan before beginning the work.

2. Rapid Mobilization for Storm Recovery

Understanding the urgency of the situation, our crew arrived next morning at 10 AM.  Our quick response helped the homeowner address a major property hazard without unnecessary delays.

3. Controlled Removal of a Large Storm-Damaged Tree

Removing a massive storm-failed tree of this size required a carefully planned approach to prevent further damage and maintain full control throughout the process. We used professional rigging systems, advanced cutting techniques, and specialized equipment to dismantle the tree in controlled sections. Each limb and trunk section was strategically removed and lowered safely, allowing our crew to complete the complex removal efficiently while protecting the surrounding property.

4. Complete Cleanup and Property Recovery

After the tree was removed, we focused on restoring the affected areas of the property. Our team cleared branches, trunk sections, and storm debris from the work area, leaving the yard organized and accessible again. By completing the cleanup process thoroughly, we helped the homeowner move forward without the burden of handling leftover storm damage.
